This program is designed to help you provide your son or daughter a competitive advantage.
We do this by exposing you to some of the pillars behind the philosophy and methodology that sculpted our own players from 9-year-olds into national team players and professionals.
Now, of course that doesn’t mean that’s what your son or daughter is going to become.
What it does mean is that a proven methodology of player development exists, and has been successfully implemented in the US environment.
You will have an inside track (straight from the source) on how to best help support your player(s) – at whatever level they’re currently at.
We’re excited to share everything with you, but first, a few more things.
What Ages is the Program For?
The main focus and theme is with exercises that are universal and fundamental.
That is to say, they are applicable from the youngest of ages (say 8-11 years old) to professionals (even the simplest exercise is applicable).
Now, there are a number of progressions and more challenging activities that 8-11 year olds would have to grow into some day (keeping in mind it also depends on the level of the player).
That said, the parent - who this program is for - is learning what these things look like and can be prepared for "what's next".
And you get to choose what exercises to do, and when, for your specific situation.
Once players enter their later years (let's say 14/15 and up), they may not be receptive to their parents for "skills work".
However, those older players will still be having regular conversations and interactions with parents regarding the game more generally, in addition to their specific circumstances.
That's where a parent's knowledge and understanding, generally speaking, approaches a limit where they can no longer offer proper guidance and mentorship.
It is at this juncture, that if a parent invested the necessary time in this program, they should be much better equipped to mentor their son or daughter when they are in their older youth (and post-youth) ages.
Not least of which is discerning "fact from fiction" in the soccer landscape.
Parents Are a Critical Component
Have you ever wondered why so many professional soccer players had a parent who was a pro?
If not, it's true.
Yes, one can cite nepotism and the network that parent definitely has.
No question that's part of it. No question.
But the kid also had to be at least good enough to a certain base level.
And that's also where a former pro, or an exceptional mentor, gives the kid an unfair advantage.
Why?
Well, because they know what it takes, and what specific things are important when it comes to the four major components of player development. The:
- Technical.
- Tactical.
- Physical.
- Mental.
From an early age, the child receives great guidance on all those aspects. Of course, the player still has to put in the work themselves, participate in pickup games, have a good coach, maybe even a personal trainer, but proper guidance by the parent(s) gives them a huge advantage.
When a parent is a former professional footballer, chances are they have a decent picture of the whole development trajectory puzzle.
Meanwhile, parents who don't have that background are stuck trying to navigate a complex system they aren't experts in, along with a flood of never-ending information online (most of which is really bad information, and really bad advice, by the way).
Next thing you know, years and years have gone by of you investing countless hours trying to figure out what's going on, and how to best guide your kid. And by the time you've figured out some important things, it's too late. Your kid is already pretty much done with soccer, or too far behind to catch up. We've seen it happen to hundreds of players we've coached from 8 years of age up to and including professionals.
Parents, you have a huge influence over whether your kid "fullfils their potential" or not.
It's a challenge, but there is a solution. You yourself need good mentorship, and that is the origin story or the root of this 3four3 program. We aim to get you up to speed, and at the highest possible level, as quickly as possible so that you can start guiding your child along a proper path—not just technically or tactically, but also from the essential mental side.
Now, if you aren't aware of 3four3's long track record of unprecedented, pioneering work in American soccer, the natural questions that might arise are: Why us? Why 3four3? Why this program?
Well, let me try to help a bit.
In this, we haven't just helped one player - one son or daughter - along a trajectory from youth to pro. We've directly coached and/or mentored a lot of players from, let's say the age of eight or so, all the way to becoming professionals.
But beyond the ones who made it to the pro game, we've been directly involved in the entire lifecycle of hundreds of players at every level of the American system, multiple times over.
With that, and a lot of hard work, we're in a unique position to diagnose what works and what doesn't.
And so we've put together a masterclass of lessons. It's a compression of decades of work and experience at every level for parents to digest, integrate, and be the best mentors they can be to their kids.
It's all about teaching you, the parent, a skill, or pieces of knowledge that are usually reserved for those who have been in this business for decades and aligned with the global gold standard.
The goal is to give you tools, in one place, so that you can substantially and relatively quickly close the gap with those parents who happen to have a lifetime of professional experience within this sport.
Tools that help you far better discern truth from nonsense in the player development ecosystem, and tools that enable you to actually train your own kid as well if you'd like.
I'm not going to lie, you will have to invest time and energy into going through the lessons, and then applying them.
But the sooner you start, the better.
